Privacy
Back to the notesBudget Notes is a study-notes archive for one college department, run by students and editors. This page says what the site keeps about you if you sign in. Browsing without signing in keeps nothing about you on our side.
What we keep
- Your Google account's ID, email address and name, which Google sends when you sign in. We ask Google for nothing else.
- The name you choose, your class (batch), your stream and the subjects you follow.
- When your profile was created and last used, and whether an editor has verified your class.
- Which files you uploaded and liked, so a like counts once per person. This is never shown on the site.
- On your own device: a sign-in token, so you stay signed in for 7 days.
Who can see it
The editors of your department and the person who runs the site's Google account. Your email and Google ID are never shown on the site. Your chosen name appears on the leaderboard and on files you upload. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
Why
To remember your name and class on every device, to let editors check that someone belongs to the class, and to show you the notes for your semester first.
Deleting it
Sign in, open your profile (the chip at the top) and choose Delete my data. Your profile row is removed straight away. Files you uploaded stay in the archive but are no longer linked to a profile. You can also ask an editor to remove you.
